2015 – Arthritis and Heart Issue diagnosis

Being a single working mother of two, I had spent years prioritizing my family and career, often neglecting my own well-being. With relentless work schedules and the demands of motherhood, I never found the time to truly pay attention to my body and health. This cycle of neglect took its toll, leading to the conditions that brought me to that critical moment in 2015.

In 2015, my journey to wellness began with unexpected and daunting news. I was diagnosed with arthritis and a heart condition. The diagnoses were delivered by two renowned doctors in Ahmedabad: Dr. Palkhiwala, who oversaw my arthritis treatment, and Dr. Dharmang Ozha, who managed my heart health.

However, these diagnoses also became the pivotal moment that redefined my life’s purpose.

How I fought back

The cornerstone of this transformation was my commitment to Ayurveda, an ancient system of medicine that emphasizes balance through natural remedies and lifestyle adjustments. Exercise expanded beyond traditional routines to include more challenging and invigorating activities. I rediscovered my love for physical activity, and today, at 60 years old, I maintain my vitality and strength through dynamic tennis matches and dedicated weightlifting sessions—an achievement that continues to surprise and motivate me every day.

With a starting weight of 82 kg, I embraced holistic healing through Ayurveda, intensive research on ancient dietary practices, and the power of exercise and yoga. Today, at 60 years old, I am proud to have reached 64 kg, maintaining my vitality through tennis and weightlifting.
